Alerts when the app is closed. The alerts above only reach you while the Spotter is open — a phone can't watch the sky in the background. For alerts with the app shut, install the free ntfy app, subscribe it to the topic below, and turn on the Spotter watch in the repo (see spotter-watch.yml). No account and no Apple Developer membership needed.
Tell me when one comes past. A notification when something you've logged is near you again — your exact aircraft by callsign or tail number, or a bus/train route you've ridden. Works while the Spotter is open; a phone can't be woken by this with the app fully closed.
Share to my boards. Your log lives on this phone. Tap below to publish it, then type the share code into any board's Spotted card (the ⇄ button). No account, nothing to set up. Re-publishes automatically each time you log something.
Shared feed (optional). Paste a spotter-worker.js URL to pool
sightings with friends — everyone's logs then show on the boards. Leave empty to
keep your log private to this phone.
Account (optional). Sign in to keep the same log on more than one device. There's no password — we email you a six-digit code. Leave this empty and the app stays entirely on this phone, which is the default.
Log to a spreadsheet (optional). Every sighting can also append a row to your own Google Sheet. Google needs you to create the endpoint yourself — there's no keyless way in — but it's a two-minute, one-time job:
